We are living in a time that continues to have heightened tensions, personal attacks, and an openness to express hatred. Many of these acts are targeted towards our families, friends, co-workers and us.
Social media is a common vehicle where a lot of negatively and attacks can occur that impact all of us. We must continue to be mindful of how our own actions and words, intentional or not, are impacting others. Empathy is something very important to keep in mind.
Think about what you do and say and how it will impact friends and family. We all make mistakes that are often unintentional. The key is to try to be more aware and improve. Let’s build instead of demolishing, let’s praise instead of criticizing, and lets value differences instead of making comparisons. Encourage and empower each person you encounter every day.

Kindness is something we need to be practicing no matter what, no matter who, no matter where. Friends, family, co-workers, and strangers alike, we are all in this together. Showing kindness is the easiest thing to do.
Say hello, make eye contact with others, ask someone how their day was. For anyone struggling with negative thoughts about themselves or experiencing a crisis, it may be just what they need at the time. Remember, a few minutes of kindness may ease others pain. It gives them the message you care and are connected. And it shows them they are important to others.
